Also, worthy of note, using the Qt5 KDE frontend did *not* entirely fix
the problem, the update was able to proceed but got hung at a later
stage. This was running it manually with sudo, not through lubuntu-
update, so this has to be the KDE frontend's fault.

Switched lubuntu-update to use the noninteractive debconf frontend. It's
not as good as the KDE frontend, but it's no more dangerous than what
plasma-discover does AIUI. debconf-kde still needs fixed, but at least
the updater will work now.

This is the fault of the Qt6 port, I've fallen back to the Qt5 version
and the bug is resolved.

I can reproduce this without even using lubuntu-update by running `sudo
DEBIAN_FRONTEND=kde apt-get dist-upgrade`. This doesn't occur when using
`DEBIAN_FRONTEND=gnome`. Therefore reassigning this to debconf-kde.

Dumb question but works fine with English and US keyboard? What about
with some other language and a US keyboard?
I do note at the top of that attachment, lxqt-sudo strips the
environment. Since LC_* is included in the exclusions, I would not
expect this to be a problem, but maybe? Python should b
With the keyboard and system in Spanish, it gives the same error and
does not allow updating. The system is updated correctly through apt.

The language used was English with an Icelandic keyboard.
The update just stops (freeze?) and unable to cancel it or backout.you can see
the error in the attached file in the origanal report.
Updating with "Discover" worked just fine.

Did the update actually freeze or error out? If not, this might be
harmless. Also, are you using a non-English language?
This does look like it just froze, which would be very weird. I'll see
if I can figure out what's wrong. The freeze and the error might be
unrelated.
