Dumb question but works fine with English and US keyboard? What about
with some other language and a US keyboard?

I do note at the top of that attachment, lxqt-sudo strips the
environment. Since LC_* is included in the exclusions, I would not
expect this to be a problem, but maybe? Python should be able to tell
you the encoding (which appears to be the issue with `import sys;
print(sys.stdout.encoding)`. Possible red herring, though.
