I have the same bug on my Hardy install. I installed the 0.8 version
from https://edge.launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/+files/sunbird_0.8
+nobinonly-0ubuntu0mt804_i386.deb and Sunbird started correctly. Yay!
It even correctly syncs with Google Calendar CalDAV, after I hit Ctrl-R.

I got the same error with sunbird 0.7.
libstdc++5 is already the newest version. and i got libstdc++6 also.

removed and some clean up that was applie upstream for most part. This package

tested it on 2 different pcs with the same results. both are new hardy
installations (installed about ten days ago)
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rm -r .gnome .gnome2 .mozilla .config .gconf
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sunbird

Can you please remove the profile dir. for sunbird and restart sunbird
and lets see if it opens than. If not please remove(completely remove)
