I can confirm that getmail6 from noble-proposed has fixed the bug for
me.
Test done:
install getmail6, dovecot-imapd and mailutils and follow the testplan to
authenticate with key/certificate and confirm that it still fails.
Added noble-proposed to apt sources.

Accepted getmail6 into noble-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/getmail6/6.18.13-1ubuntu0.1 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
