Title:
junk mail controls don't work

I would like to forward this bug upstream if it still exists in
thunderbird-3.0 beta. Can you check the thunderbird-3.0 package in
https://edge.launchpad.net/~fta/+archive and see if that fixes your
filtering issues? Thanks!

I found a fix to the above problem at:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/155759
I followed the directions in the comment by: Bieleke wrote on 2008-11-10:
(permalink) and everything is working now.
But why the preference settings aren't linked to the account settings
I have my preferences set to move junk mail to the junk folder, but they
are not move when tagged.
I'm also using 2.0.0.18, running 64-bit version of Ubuntu 8.04

With the upgrade to 2.0.0.18 my junk mail controls are broken. I have
made NO changes to any settings, but now mail is not flagged as junk
(even if flagged by SpamAssassin), and is not moved to the junk folder
as it used to be.
I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 on a 64-bit AMD box from Dell.

junk mail
I downloaded the latest version of thunderbird 2.0.0.12 and installed it
under /usr/local/thunderbird on my Ubunntu 7.04 system.
The only addon shown is talkback 2.0.0.9.
I disabled it and stopped and restarted thunderbird.
I created a new filter saying to mark as junk all messages from
[EMAIL PR
open up the addons dialog for thunderbird and the list should be there.
Please try adding a filter instead of winner use dear winner and see if
it helps than.

Hi John --
I have now idea how to get a list of extensions or add ons and disable
them.
After installing unbuntu 7.04 (downgrading from 7.10) and updating all
packages, I still cant get junk mail controls to work. Is there a file I
can delete or an advanced parameter I can edit that will reset
Please forgive me John but I was so frustrated with Thunderbird that I
initialized my hard drive and installed the earlier version of Ubuntu -
7.04 in place of the 7.10 that seemed to have introduced the problems.
You have to know that for me to do that, I would have been extremely
frustrated!
Can you please list all extentions and/or addons that you are using?
What happens when you disable them, does it work properly than?
