It's actually a problem with the new Xcb-based implementation of Xlib. It is doing some internal locking for multi-threaded use and gets into a situation where the sigle thread sets the display lock against itself. Work around for "an attempt to open a citrix session from within firefox 3.0b3 lets the (Citrix) ICA plugin crash as reported by /var/log/apport" One has to set export LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=true before starting firefox 3.0. Be patient, it takes 30 seconds until the citrix application starts.
