I've got the same problem using newest ogle (0.9.2-5.2) on fully updated
Jaunty alpha. I've got default sound settings. Also properties menu in
ogle gui it's not working at all.

Please do not use the OSS devices (/dev/dsp, /dev/audio, /dev/mixer,
etc.). Instead, use the ALSA virtual device "default".

Hmm. I got this crash fifteen minutes ago on a fully-updated Hardy
system, just after the FBI warning on a DVD, right as the sound would
have started to play. Now after logging out and in, everything works
fine.

This appears to be fixed with the newer alsa/sound packages recently
released.
