I encountered the same problem, but installing gtk2-engines-qtcurve

Played with the some more... a lot of interesting problems lurking in
different places.
First off, I tried setting my KDE font sizes all to 8. One of them, when
using the gtk2-engines-qtcurve solution, DOES fix the font sizes in GTK
apps. What it does not appear to do is fix the size of text boxes
I would like to add to this that it is not a great solution. After
changing this setting, GTK apps now use a larger font size than I want.
I'd turned that down some after initial installation (Thunderbird's
toolbar is far too wide on my screen with the default size), but with
the "Other Theme" box
OK, well... that worked for me too... but really, what's the solution
here? A user should not have to figure this stuff out, and I have to
figure that if anyone tested this, it would have been completely
obvious. What's the problem here and where is the solution?

This problem also occurs in other GTK applications, such as UFRaw.
I too can also confirm that Alejandro Diaz-Caro's workaround does indeed
work. Thanks!

A workaround is to go to System Settings/Appearance/GTK Styles and fonts
and Set: Use another style - QtCurve. This eliminates the firefox
rendering bug and many other issues like sliders are chopped off at the
bottom, etc.
As far as I understand the problem is that Hardy uses QtCurve as the

I have the same problem (When a checkbox has focus it becomes a bigger
empty square), how did you solve this?
I'm on kubuntu 8.04, ff 3b4, updgraded yesterday. I've had ff3 beta on

It happens with domino style here as well on KDE (kde-style-domino).
Works well with Konqueror, so the bug is probably GTK/Firefox dependant.
