The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

say LabelWriter 310 will only work when connected to a Windows computer,
because it has non-standard USB support.

Hi Pascal,
You mentioned this is happening on a Gutsy install. The Hardy Heron
Alpha series was recently released. Alpha2 and subsequent releases
contain an updated version of the kernel. You can download and try the
new Hardy Heron Alpha release from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/ .
As "lsubs" does not show this device, it seems that the problem is
already on the kernel level and not in CUPS.
