Actually, since I made my post above I've noticed some other problems
with the older version. Some clicks aren't registered properly. Still,
it's better than the problem with the new version which is completely
unusable on some sites.

I experienced this problem as well, but I'm assuming this is not a
problem with Ubuntu, since Ubuntu does not develop, maintain, or even
distribute the plugin that's malfunctioning, as far as I know.
I'm guessing it will be fixed in a later version of the flash plugin.
