Thanks for confirming this.
I think that one computer piece doesn't work. Maybe you can try to find
that piece ( it can be your old 56k modem card, your audio card, your
floppy disk reader, your CD burner. If you find something that doesn't
work on your computer, most probably that it is the bad p

Yes, I did experiment a lot. I removed Ubuntu entirely and ran Windows.
I did have the same problem. So, its clearly a hardware or BIOS issue!

With your latest comment, It's clear that *if* this is a ubuntu bug,
it's a GRUB bug but if it was a GRUB bug, most of time you would get a
error from GRUB or you would see GRUB menu loading during a very long
time. But since nothing happens during the 1-2 minutes and since I can't
find any other b
I reinstalled Feisty [removed Gutsy] and the problem still persists. So,
I guess its not an Ubuntu issue. Any suggestions on why this is
happening? Is something wrong with my BIOS configuration or is it a
hardware problem?
Anyway, to your question above I get screenshot 2.

Thanks for your quick answer.
Sorry to make you confirm this multiple times, but it's essential as
your bug seems a bit special and as a lot of bugs looks like your bug,
but in another packages than GRUB ( like in usplash, for example ).
Once you've waited 1-2 minutes, can-you tell me which of th
1. It clearly takes 1-2 minutes between the BIOS and GRUB. I have
attached the image. Here the monitor remains blank and the monitor's LED
blinks.
2. Mind here, this problem occurs only on restarts and not while turning
on the computer for the first time.
3. I have never come across this problem
Can you also confirm that this 1-2 minutes happens BEFORE the Grub menu
appear? Note that Grub is only the bootloader of ubuntu, so it's
actually what starts Linux Ubuntu. If 1-2 minutes is the time that it
takes before you can use your mouse, than we would speak about GDM (
Gnome Display Manager )
yes, its happens occasionally. I get it specifically on system restarts.

Thanks for this bug report.
Did you test this multiple times with Gutsy? Sometimes a computer will
do a complete BIOS test before booting the HD and this is normal. Since
GRUB is a simple bootloader in the MBR, I don't think that this is a
GRUB bug, so I want to be sure before to confirm some deta
