Installing xserver-xgl packages did the trick.
All works 100% no lockups for me yet...

You can add SKIP_CHECKS=yes to ~/.config/compiz/compiz-manager
(by running "echo SKIP_CHECKS=yes >> ~/.config/compiz/compiz-manager" at a
terminal, for example) to skip all the startup checks. However, your
driver/card combination has been blacklisted for a reason - people were
reporting random
So how do I get past the blacklisting? seeing I had no issues in 7.04???
