Will this be fixed in 9.10? (Not just the man page, but the bigger issue
of clearing up the mystery about do-release-upgrade)

Hi Crusty, I started working on a man page for this last week. I'm
attaching the unfinished document, I should have more or less a good
draft by next week this time and it should make it for Karmic. It
*might* even make it into 9.04 bundled with a stable release update, but
I wouldn't count on that
At 9.04 and still no man page.

Thanks for your bugreport.
If someone comes up with a good draft for a manpage, I'm more than happy
to add it to the package.

Bump.
This still hasn't been fixed, even in 8.10.

do-release-upgrade isn't talked about much, and remains a mystery. It
certainly needs a good man page.

High vs. Critical -- In either case, we both agree it needs to be fixed
PDQ. :-)
Wiki page -- The wiki page would make for helpful documentation for the
user and points to why it's so important to include the manpage. Yes, an
online wiki is very helpful if your computer is up and running
For an explanation of Ubuntu bugs importance, please see:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Importance
I am assigning this "Importance: High". Lack of documentation (as a man
page) for this particular package would normally be assigned "wishlist"
however this is an important part of the update/upgrade
Also assigning to maintainer, pending review and possible re-assigning
(or rejecting).

This should be upgraded to Critical.
This is really a bug in the development process. IMHO, no package should
ever be allowed in the repository without a man page and a document in
/usr/share/doc/[package-name]/ describing its intended actions and
effects. There is a good reason for the Debian pol
