Retest with kubuntu-kde4 daily build from 20080317 worked fine. There is no
"cancel" button anymore during the file system check. [One could close the
window by it's decorations ...]
Consider this one as fixed.

Tried it with daily image from 20080314 and 20080315 but the kde4 image freezes
during the boot loader.
I'll try it again with 20080316. Please be patient.

Hi Terry,
I just tried it on hardy alpha 5 kde4 i386 disk. There is still the same
behavior.
I resized the only partition from 30 gb to 10 gb in the manual disk setup step.
During the file system check I selected skip. The progress dialog is closed and
no new one for the resizing process is open
Since the installer didn't crash, I'm not sure if log files will help.
What will help is trying Hardy Alpha 5 and installing on a spare
partition. If the behavior is the same, then this needs to escalate. I
didn't see this as being fixed but there are perhaps 500 open bugs
against the ubiquity in
Triaged to Incomplete pending testing with Hardy Alpha.

Just a minor bug - in my opinion.
When resizing an existing partition the option to skip file system check is
provided. When you click this option the file system check is skipped and
ubi
