Hi Terry, I just tried it on hardy alpha 5 kde4 i386 disk. There is still the same behavior. I resized the only partition from 30 gb to 10 gb in the manual disk setup step. During the file system check I selected skip. The progress dialog is closed and no new one for the resizing process is opened. The resizing action is still continued and the disk is busy.
