It's great that this kernel fixes the bug. That means the fix will be in the

Per comment #29, the upstream kernel v3.19.7 may resolve this bug. The Vivid
master-next branch now has the upstream 3.19.7 update. I built a test kernel

Just installed the official 3.19-18 kernel as well. Behaviour is exactly
the same.
Concerning the message: I have a German system while intuitively writing

Joseph Salisbury, I installed the test kernel and booted several times.

Remember similar stalling while booting in MacBook 2,1 issues predate the
ubuntu 3.19 kernel. They are in 3.16 and previous I think also, just not as

Wrong guess re 37ef01ab... , but there is a difference. After reaching the

the screen goes black then stalls. Still boots on recovery mode only. Must

Commit 37ef01ab is in mainline as of v4.1-rc1. It was also cc'd to
stable and is in the upstream stable kernel as of 3.19.7. It will make
it's way into Vivid when it gets the 3.19.7 updates, which will probably
occur in Ubuntu version: 3.19.0-18.
