In Karmic we changed from hal to devicekit-power. Nobody confirmed that
this bug still happens in Karmic, after the call for testing below.
I just tested it myself on my Dell Latitude D430, and I get all the
"low"/"critical"/"suspending now" notifications, and the computer
suspends when the batte

+1 On the bug in Jaunty. No action is triggered. A notification is
triggered claiming to hibernate/suspend in 1 minute, but nothing
happens.

I watched what happens as the battery runs down on my ThinkPad X61.
Gnome-power-manager seems to accurately measure the remaining charge
until it reaches about 5 percent. After that, it doesn't significantly
change. Maybe whatever gpm relies on for its information isn't
reporting well…?
