UDM/S-I will inhibit suspend. If you later go back to the updates panel,
all download/install progresses should be restored. There used to be a
bug in UDM that prevented us from restoring downloads, but this has now
been fixed (see bug 1607382). I think that bug was the cause of this

If this bug is about interrupted downloads/installation, then one
solution might be to move tracking of UDM in System Settings closer to
the browser's. The implementations currently differ.

On a slow connection, an update might take hours. So I think keeping the
screen on during a manual update would be a bad idea for two reasons.
Firstly, leaving the screen on for hours would drain battery
unnecessarily.
Secondly, the device doesn’t lock until the screen turns off or sometime
after
there is an api now to let the screen on, we should maybe use that?
