UDM/S-I will inhibit suspend. If you later go back to the updates panel, all download/install progresses should be restored. There used to be a bug in UDM that prevented us from restoring downloads, but this has now been fixed (see bug 1607382). I think that bug was the cause of this bug, so markin

On a slow connection, an update might take hours. So I think keeping the screen on during a manual update would be a bad idea for two reasons. Firstly, leaving the screen on for hours would drain battery unnecessarily. Secondly, the device doesn’t lock until the screen turns off or sometime after
