Then run alsa-info.sh

So in the Volume Manager settings pane under output devices it shows the
device as (Unplugged) and there is no sound. I clicked on the
configuration tab, selected "Digital Surround 5.1 Output (HDMI) Output"
and i magically had sound again.

Trusy was working fine with requgalr Ubuntu desktop but GParted wouldnt
work with my RAID setup. Reinstalled with 14.04 server and now the

As I have stated many times, there is an issue with 13.10 and now
apparently inherited/passed on to 14.04.
I just went from a complete working 12.10 Quantal to 14.04 via 13.10 and now
the HDMI audio
A system update and reboot seems to have fixed the issue for me.
There is another issue with ALC892 that causes a "headphones" output to
flash in sound settings. The workaround is to actually connect
headphones to the subwoofer jack and the "headphone" output will
