And for what it's worth, the redesigned partitioning page implements
something quite close to what Matthew describes. Unsurprising,
considered he designed it. :)

This is fixed in Natty. To address your concerns point-by-point:
- It no longer uses radio buttons to select which disk to use. This is
handled on the second partitioning page (if you select the resize or
entire disk options) using a combobox. The combobox is still shown when
it contains only on

Corrections:
* "is currently running Windows XP" should be "currently has Windows XP on it"
* the "Keep it" option should be first, since it's most likely (for our
medium-term target audience, anyway), and it matches the wording of the
question.

I agree with Matt's comments, with the proviso that "Erase entire disk"
might be confusing unless you mention what's going in its place. Even
then it would be confusing if the disk is blank (there's nothing to
erase), so that would need a different string.
Most importantly, I think, it's not clear
