The other (original mouse) does not work because I dropped it. The new
one, also bluetooyh is fine, no complaints. So the problem has been
solved.

Happy to report that this problem has been solved. After weeks of
trying, I tested a new bluetooth mouse and found it worked correctly, as
the previous mouse did until it broke down.

This problem is not solved, after almost two months of nothing, one
would expect some answer and indeed a fix.
It is extremely annoying to fight the app to turn itself on, it usually
turns of as soon as the mouseis at rest for a few seconds, then the
fight to make a connection starts all over agai
Aweek after the original post I have found that the app in the panel
is always turned off when either the computer is turned off or just put
in hibernation. Sometimes by opening that app and going to the actual
mouse on/off button I click that button and the connection is
established. It app
