Further clarification: the Dutch keyboard needs the layout "US
International (with dead keys)" because there are many words in Dutch
with accents on the characters. Like ë, á, è, ï, ö. You catch my
drift

On the Dutch forum, 75% of the newcomers has problems with the keyboard layout.
Every time rhe solution is the same: change to US International with dead keys.

The first thing i do when installing Ubuntu is replacing the Dutch
Keyboard by the US Intl with dead keys. I will be pleased when a new

I also can confirm this bug/suggestion. I am dutch but I have never
seen a dutch keyboard. Allways use the F3 key to change to "us-
international" when booting from the live cd

I can confirm this bug/suggestion. As a 27 year old dutch i don't think
i have ever seen a dutch keyboard. I think it will be hard to buy one in
the Netherlands.

To put it more concisely: the default choice for Dutch users should be
"US International" with variant "International (with dead keys)". This
variant is important, because in Dutch there are words that contain
letters with accents.
Fixing this would mean a welcome lessening of questions on the Dut

It is not just a problem of ubiquity or console-setup. It is a problem
throughout the whole system. And it is confusing for new users.

Confirmed, this bites me every time (especially in the virtual
terminals). Might be a duplicate though, but I couldn't find any.
