[gutsy-tribe2] on tty0 fails to shut down ltsp thin clients

This popped up the other day, and we talked about it quickly in #ubuntu-
devel.
The problem is due to the fact that the /etc/event.d/ctl-alt-delete file does a
full shutdown, which
does things like unmount nbd mounts before it's finished shutting down. Two
solutions exist:
1) Changing the shut
I guess it's a strange thing to do alright, but at the time, ldm2 used
to become unresponsive if you gave a wrong username/password. The only
solution I could come up with was power it off, or do the above. The
above sort of made sense as I was already on the command line.

Wow, this is the most whacky way I've seen people try to shutdown. :)
I guess the question is: does it shutdown from the login screen, witht
the "shutdown" button?
I'll have a look at this, but with the squashfs, things get a little
wierder.
Is it that much of an issue?
