ads-2100e'), this is still broken in 16.10 as well. I've tried reporting
a new bug using 'ubuntu-bug simple-scan' but I get an 'Invalid OpenID
transaction' error when my web browser opens.

address this report is a fix from the Ubuntu repositories. Forum posts
aren't terribly helpful here.
What is immensely helpful though, is if you filed a new report with Ubuntu from

Still not working in Ubuntu 14.01. Situation exactly the same: Simple
Scan sees the scanner and correctly identified it as a Brother ADS-2100,

This seems to be a Hardware Issue, i.e. Simple Scan does not support
your scanner perfectly -- or possibly not at all.
Unfortunately such problems happen more often then they should, and while it

All indications are that there is *some* communication with the scanner,
