This bug is still present in Ubuntu 16.04. There are several Forum posts in Ubuntuusers.de (https://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/16-04-erkennt- scanner-brother-ads-2100-nicht/2/#post-8732313) and other places (e.g. http://www.dubiozine.de/brother-ads-2100-scanner-nach-update-fehler/) in the Internet that address that problem.
