DELL PowerEdge R410 doesn't boot
I contacted Dell as suggested, asked them what the recommended method
for updating the BIOS when running Ubuntu and got a response today:

"The easiest way to update the firmware on your server is to use the “platform
update” from the lifecycle controller. You can see a short video here on how t
andjons, I've seen that link before in previous reports. I've not
encountered anyone who has successfully followed it to update their
BIOS. However, it would be best to contact Dell directly for BIOS update
support. Please let us know what they advise when you discuss this with
them.

It is not obvious to me what files to download or what instructions to follow
from the link you provided. Do you think these instructions work as well to
update the BIOS to version 1.11.0:

Thank you Joseph and hi! Sorry for the delay, but I must wait for the not so
bad moments to reboot this production server.
I downloaded and installed the latest v3.2 stable kernel as requested, using
the 'sudo dpkg -i *.deb' command from this folder:
$ ls -alFh
total 86M

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream stable kernel?
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the
latest v3.2 stable kernel[0].
