Since lmodern worked fine for the bug reporter the same day and there was no
confirmation or any discussion since more than 1 year I will mark this bug as
invalid.

I'm using kubuntu 7.04 (feisty) on an AMD 64 system.
An "sudo find / -name lmodern.sty" returns no value, thus lmodern.sty is
not installed with tetex and related font support packages in apt-get.
Is lmodern.sty installed in ubuntu and not kubuntu? I also removed
~/.texmf-var to see if that help
Ok, maybe I was a bit too fast. I was now able to solve the problem by
deleting ~/.texmf-var. The font information was re-built and Latin
Modern worked fine afterwards. So it's not a very serious bug, but
somewhat irritating. I don't know what caused that error. Is it possible
to prevent such confl
