Is it possible that a different version of Ubuntu, different distro, or
different kernel may affect this bug? I notice that previous versions of
Ubuntu don't have any documented bugs regarding suspend as indicated by
Ubuntu's list of certified hardware:

A lot of the technical specifics of this issue are over my head, so to
speak. Is this indeed a problem with the BIOS firmware with no hopes in
fixing it aside from an updated BIOS that addresses the bug?

it may not directly impact PCI. I also seen other similar bug but for
