As per the gnome-bug attached to this one: the "DNSUpdate no" feature is
already available in the place of using "Automatic (addresses only)"
option under the IPv4 tab, at least since Jaunty. As such, I'm marking
this bug as Fix Released.

It would be really nice if this one would be added to network-manager-
vpnc.
The "DNSUpdate no" line works perfectly for command line vpnc.
Odd enough if I add that line to vpn_data for network-manager-vpnc in the
gconf-editor, NetworkManager crashes if I try to start the VPN; that doesn't

Works for me, on current Intrepid, using 'vpnc-connect' and 'vpnc-
disconnect' commands to open and close the VPN connection.
With "DNSUpdate no" in /etc/vpnc/default.conf, /etc/resolve.conf is not
modified, without "DNSUpdate", it is. Target networks also works
correctly.

I searched, and found nothing. I'm not sure if the "only use VPN
connection for these addresses" works or not, but I definitely think
there should be a "DNSUpdate" option on the optional info tab.

For those having problems with /etc/resolv.con NOT updating via
network-manager-vpnc:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=325581
The following fixed it for me:
sudo apt-get remove resolvconf
It just works now.

I'm having the same issue, but with opposite effect. I want to allow
only certain networks to use the tunnel, but I still want NM to update
my resolv.conf. Right now, if I check the "only use vpn for these
addresses" option, NM will not update my DNS.
This is a bit of a pain for me, as my org. exp

Indeed the dns negotiation between the vpn plugins and nm needs a bit of
work. a) There should be a way to disable the DNS settings f

I second this. My use case is:
- regular internet connection at work
- use vpnc to connect to a restricted access network where I administer an
edubuntu server
When I connect up the vpn, all my other connections (eg web browsing) fail as
the DNS is now set to that of the restricted network.
