I'm having the same issue, but with opposite effect. I want to allow only certain networks to use the tunnel, but I still want NM to update my resolv.conf. Right now, if I check the "only use vpn for these addresses" option, NM will not update my DNS.
This is a bit of a pain for me, as my org. expects internet traffic to go out through my local connection, and doesn't provide a route through the VPN, but if I only route my org's traffic through the tunnel, I can't resolve addresses inside the private network.
