The following workarounds fixed my problems:
* I deactivated koffice-latest and kde-latest (kde4-3.80.3 was deactivated
automatically by the updater)
* I deinstalled libsmokeqt1-qt4 and the packages depending on it
* I started the upgrader
* After the upgrade, I reinstalled libsmokeqt1-qt4 and th
I removed the two lines and ran into a different problem.
The upgrader now fails with "Can't install kubuntu-desktop".

Some additional information:
Both of the files http://kubuntu.org/packages/koffice-
latest/dists/edgy/Release and http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-
latest/dists/edgy/Release exist, and both of them contain the entry
restricted/binary-i386/Packages
Maybe they are malformed, but the error message is
Please remove the entries:
deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/koffice-latest edgy main restricted universe
multiverse
deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-latest edgy main restricted universe
multiverse
(or comment them out). They seems to be invalid.
