As it seemed quite strange that I had gone so backwards in the kernels and
suspension still did not work, I tried to change my PC's power supply, with
another power supply and with this other power supply my PC suspends correctly.
If I put back on the original power supply the problem comes back
I have tested various Precise kernels up to now but suspension fails on all
(3.1.0-1.0 3.1.0-2.3 3.2.0-1.1 3.2.0-1.3 3.2.0-2.4 3.2.0-3.9 3.2.10.18
3.2.0-16.25 3.2.0-17 3.2.0-20 3.2.0-23 3.2.0-24 3.2.0-25 3.2.0-32 3.5.0-17)

Sorry if it's taking long, but I am trying out some kernels to find out in
which kernel suspension used to work an in which it stopped working.
As soon as I find out, I will let you know.

Christopher, sorry I was not very clear.
On my PC I had kernels going back to 3.2.0-17, but with all of these kernels,
3.2.0-17 included, suspension does not work.
So I was not able to find a kernel with a working suspension.
If you think it's necessary I will install and test the older kernels un

Sorry in the dmesg file I have to hash matches entries:

but they are not in the same format as indicated in the DebuggingKernelSuspend
page.
So I'm not quite sure if the culprit of my problem is in these lines.

I tried out some kernels that were already on my PC to find out when suspend
worked, as I do not remember precisly when it stopped working.
Since kernel 3.2.0-17 suspend does not work.
As my PC has a linux kernel with the capability of "/sys/power/pm_trace I tried
out this:

I used to be able to suspend my PC with Precise, after some updates it stopped
working, do not remember precisly at what after what update.

I installed kernel 3.5.0-16.25~precise1 for testing, so I also tried to
suspend my PC, It did not work.
Do not know if it matters, but I thought it would be a good idea to tell you.
Just for curiosity I also tried kernel 3.6.0-030600rc7, but suspention
did not work.

I installed kernel 3.6.0-030600 but it would not boot, the only thing I get is
a purple background that stays there forever.
I cannot do anything, CTRL+ALT+F1, CTRL+ALT+CANC do not work I have to switch
off the PC pressing the power button.
