/dev/scd0 it is loading DVD media just fine. And the buffering problem

After upgrade to Hardy, I found xine was broken for DVD playing (there
is no plugin to handle dvd:/...), and kaffeine could not find the

As I recall the issue manifested with Feisty. I had loaded the non-free codecs
from Medibuntu but still could not view DVDs. The fi
Hi there
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with

three packages not installed by default that needed to be installed in
order to get DVDs to play. Since Kubuntu mainly uses xine based media
players, this should relate to this bug.
The three packages are libdvdread3, libxine1-

with menus. Both, when insert CD and use autoplay and when using the
menu item.
Thank you!
