This ticket really should be marked invalid -- and I say this as an upstream Shotwell dev. Shotwell can be run in two modes. One of these modes is "library mode," where Shotwell manages a library of photos, allowing tagging, events, etc. However, Shotwell can also be invoked in "direct edit mode",
