This ticket really should be marked invalid -- and I say this as an upstream Shotwell dev. Shotwell can be run in two modes. One of these modes is "library mode," where Shotwell manages a library of photos, allowing tagging, events, etc. However, Shotwell can also be invoked in "direct edit mode", where Shotwell is invoked on a single image to allow quick re-touching, etc.
In the video, Shotwell is running in direct edit mode. Drag and drop has never been supported in direct edit mode, since the whole point of direct edit mode is to "directly edit" a single photo. Drag and drop only works in library mode for importing and exporting photos to and from the Shotwell library. So Shotwell is functioning as designed. If drag & drop in direct edit mode is a desired feature in Shotwell, that should be opened as a feature request on our upstream bug tracker at http://redmine.yorba.org. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1029894 Title: Shotwell drag and drop does not work.
