Maybe this will help someone. I found the touchpad settings for 15.10
now to be located under:
"org.gnome.desktop.peripherals.touchpad"
At least knowing that fixed the issue with my custom script.

I experience the same for a custom script for activating/deactivating my
touch pad. When I upgraded from 15.04 to 15.10 the dconf setting for the
touchpad "org.gnome.settings-daemon.peripherals.touchpad" was
