was trying to uninstall more than one item at once. I really did prefer
the old 'add-remove programs' where a few items could be selected for

I have just done a new install of Ubuntu Desktop 12.04, with updates
while installing. I have the same issue, it was also the same when
using the live disk. I have only been able to do the install because I
had a USB WiFi dongle.

I run a Samba server on a Xubuntu machine (11.04). That serves a laptop
(Xubuntu 11.04 now with Gnome-panel installed) which works perfectly but I now
get the error described on my main machine (Ubuntu 11.04 Classic). This is a
new error. Up to recently it has worked perfectly.

The above script was slightly different to the one I have but I copied it and
made the mods as above. The errors in syslog have gone but I'm no further
forward. The OpenVPN connects, as before, but no data throughput.
Presumably the fix will come in the regular updates??

It does connect to the wifi but it slowly degrades and thus downloads get

There were problems with the vesa driver on mythTV when watching 'live'
TV. I have now tried Intel i810 and this appears to work OK but I can't
get the resolution I would like to use with that driver. So, still
hoping for a solution to allow use of the newer 'intel' driver.
