In general there isn't any problems. But when I connect my computer to a second
monitor. Use display mode "Join Displays". Then disappears all my desktop icons
.
If I switch theDisplay mode to "Mirror" or "Single Display" then will all the
icons come back.

Seems like the problem was the SSD harddrive. After a few retries and
reinstallations it refused to work with me at all. Sent it in for RMA
and got a new one for the same system which works flawlessly.

I did an installation before with the Live CD on the original harddrive.
Worked nice. Now I've upgraded the EeePC with a 256 GB OZC Petrol and
the installation use to come to the installation of APT and there it
crashes. Same with the miniCD and the alternate installer.

Small update, after installing the lastest upgrades per 2012-04-03 -
straight after a clean install, this problem hit my netbook test
install. I was able to fix it by installing the network-manager-gnome
package.

I installed linux-backports-modules-jaunty, but it doesn't solve the issue.
I don't know if it is really a duplicate of bug 200509, because my driver is
iwlagn, not iwl4965. But the main problem is the same, so if you think it
should be marked as duplicate, I will agree with you :)

I tried to boot Ubuntu 8.10 Beta to try it today on my Dell Vostro 200
at work. I want to use it in French, so I select French as language.
When I press [ENTER] on "Try Ubuntu without changing anything on my
computer", I have a bootscreen freeze. No splash screen, nothing, sam
