@John Ching, very late response, sorry. No, I do not need to use the
--disable-eplugin, all plugins are enabled, and I haven't had an issue
since. Last night I did the same on a LinuxMint Julia box, I added the
maverick-proposed repository, updated evolution, removed exchange

I had the same problem of Kantastisk, trying to grab the calendar

therefore places all windows in same position. Manually entering
"title=Calendar" fixed it. Need to open another bug for the grab

@John Ching, & others considering thunderbird + davmail:
before switching to Thunderbird+Lightning+Davmail, have you also tried
evolution + davmail?
I use it with an exchange 2007 server and it works, including calendar.
I would assume davmail also works with a 2003 server, and if not it

MartinP: could you please tell us what revision of the fstab line
resolved the problem for you?
This has been bugging me for a long time as well, haven't yet upgraded
to 10.04, but from your comment I see the upgrade alone will not fix the
issue.

For what is worth, I was also suffering from this bug (I am the reporter
of http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=566853 mentioned by Jörn

Another thank you to Emanuele Pane.
Just a couple of comments:
a. the sudo command is really only needed on step n. 2 (I try and stay away
from sudo and root as much as I can)
b. before step 5. you need to "cd glib2.0-2.22.2" to avoid the same error that

Downloading the Adobe version fixes the issue for me, but it introduces
a new one: logmein.com control of remote computers stops working,
regardless of the web browser I use (opera preferably, firefox as an
alternative). I guess I could try and build a workaround so that opera

The /dev/disk/by-* is a workaround that only works on local partitions, not on

May I ask what the double change in milestone means?

I am not clear on what digikam version you have installed, are you
saying that what digikam tells you differs from what synaptics does?
What says 0.10.0 and what says 0.9.3?
But regardless, you can always try to uninstall and then install,
shouldn't do any harm (maybe no good either...).

Since posting the workaround (I owe a late thank you to Alexandre Racine
for posting the fix that really worked) I have moved to a fresh install
of 64bit Jaunty, that offers digikam 0.10.0, and I don't see any
problem: trash is handled correctly on my system.
Also, I tried deleting the entry in ~/
I have since switched to ubuntu 9.04 that comes with ekiga 3.2, the
issue seems fixed, although I haven't done extensive testing.

Yes, that is definitely the bug, also filed upstream to the gnome
bugzilla as Bug 548507 in August 2008, but unfortunately still no
activity on it (not that it is in any way a serious bug)!
Regarding the upgrade, something surely happened when I upgraded from
Intrepid to Jaunty, because I immediat
I also had the same problem, faces disappeared right after upgrading to
Jaunty. I also had tried EricT's tricks, with no success. Yesterday I
managed to make them reappear.
What I noticed was that in system -> administration -> login window ->

I know, as I said in December I am also running Intrepid, problem still
there. I was hoping that someone would comment on my (clumsy?) attempt
to circumvent the problem...
What I didn't mention is that I also use ekiga with third party sip
service, thought it wouldn't matter but you never know...
Trying to find a fix for the problem, I was thinking of having ekiga
being killed at suspend/hibernate and then restarted at resume. My
(newbie) attempt is to add the following script as
/etc/pm/sleep.d/01ekiga.fix (substitute sim909 with actual user name):

The same happens after a suspend.

I have tried it now, it is not a perfect fix, i.e. you won't get the
error message, the image is moved to the specified folder, but it
doesn't show up in the trash system folder.
So I will patiently wait for a real fix to the bug, not being able to
fix it myself.
