I have the same error "SRST failed error = -16" - but I know the problem
for sure, for me, is a faulty disk drive so haven't gone back and tried
it on previous kernels. It's repeating a nasty clicking noise when
powered on and the bios doesn't recognise the disk.

Sadly changing the bios setting doesn't solve the probklem for me. My
system has the same problem regardless of the legacy usb devices setting
being on or off.

I was hoping that I wouldn't be needed for testing this workaround...
my boot menus require me to use my usb keyboard which only works for
the boot menus if the usb legacy bios setting is on.
Will let you know later.

Some results of testing various combinations on my system:
Using 2.6.29 with default kernel params has the problem.
Using 2.6.29 with "noapic" has the problem.
Using 2.6.29 with "maxcpus=1" fixes the problem.

Public bug reported:
Computer does not go into suspend mode properly.
Selecting suspend causes hard disks and screens to power off but the fans still

The system will then not wake-up from this state and I have to hit the reset
button on the case or dis/re-connect the power.

I'm not having any luck using the microphone on a eeepc 8g (702). It
did work on the original xandros.
I have tried with
options snd-hda-intel model=auto
and
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-dig
in
/etc/modprobe.d/snd-hda-intel
Have tried using Intrepid and the latest alpha of Jaunty.
