Gutsy Tribe 3 on Intel G965 graphics @ 1920x1200. Tried to play the
example ogg video. Totem starts, then crashes. No crash log is
produced. The following is emitted on stderr
Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
The display on the 7.10 Tribe 3 live CD is blurry. I have G965 graphics
and a 1920x1200 monitor attached with DVI. The resolution is reported
as 1920x1200 on both the computer and the monitor's on-screen controls,
so that isn't

Binary package hint: hal-device-manager
This is not the same as 91012. The "Hardware Information" capplet,
which is actually hal-device-manager, produces crash logs in the Gutsy

I'm not an Ubuntu developer, but it seems to me that this bug is serious
enough to block the 7.04 release. Networking only works on the most
trivial configurations, and it will stop working on systems where Dapper
and Edgy worked perfectly. In other words, it's a serious regression.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-evdev
The alleged manual page that ships with evdev is completely nonsensical,
and can be of no use to any sane person when editing xorg.conf. To wit:

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evolution
Evolution always starts in Offline Mode if network-manager is not
managing interfaces. If I have a static wired ethernet port and
network-manager does not manage it, then Evolution will start up in
Offline Mode every time. This is, of course,
that acceration was turned on
in the rc version vs the beta. Could this be the problem?
Thanx much,

In Edgy, the user can easily remove both upstart and sysvinit without

Petr: the "right way" these days would be to use HAL and DBUS to receive

functionality in GNOME and is likely to remain for a long time.

This problem still exists in VMWare Workstation 5.5.2. VMWare expects
usbfs to be mounted somewhere, although the mountpoint is configurable.
And really, why shouldn't they expect it to be mounted? I spent a good
hour trying to figure this one out and when I found that usbfs wasn't
mounted I was
