When it runs (invoked through Dash) it show a launcher icon with no complete
name
insted "TVtime Television Viewer" it show only "tvtime"

This bug is not an issue of the V4L1 API dropped in recent Linux kernels,
fortunately gnomeradio supports V4L2.
Gnomeradio just needs best defaults for v4l2 and /dev/radio0.
Unfortunately here is no option in the GUI and have used gconf-editor.
Best solution is your suggestion.
