Yes, that's what I am looking for -- I was aware of the diff you mention, since
the person who did post it is a.k.a. myself :)
Well, in bug #197950 it seems to be related to the "filedialog" thing of
Trolltech.conf -- but there's no sign of it in your Trolltech.conf. Don't
hesitate to post a dif
Can some of you do the following?:
1. Create a proper Trolltech.conf with qtconfig-qt4 (after deleting it) and
make a backup of it.
2. Then play with lyx until you can get it to crash and make a diff, so that we
can see the difference.

Here's the behavior in bug #197950 : the bug vanishes but qt modifies
Trolltech.conf at each run of lyx. At some point, it becomes corrupted
and the bug reappear. Then one has to start again and delete
Trolltech.conf, and so on.
Hence if qt creates Trolltech.conf again and at some point applicatio
Manuel, I first thought your comment was out of place, but then I
realized an update broke my lyx yesterday just like in bug #228067 (see
my comment on this bug for more details).
Then I tried my above workaround once again (getting rid of
Trolltech.conf) and once again it solved the problems, hen

I updated my computer yesterday & it broke lyx with the same SIGSEGV. However
this relates to lyx 1.5.4 (/usr/local/bin/lyx) that I have compiled myself. Lyx
1.5.3 from ubuntu (/usr/bin/lyx) did not have this bug on my machine.
So far so good: one might argue that I should have recompiled lyx for
Bad news: the bug just reappeared on my machine. Deleting Trolltech.conf
solved the bug again.
qt4 modifies Trolltech.conf when lyx is running, and hence can cause the
bug to reappear. Probably a qt4 bug, but this might still be due to an
improper use of qt4 by Lyx.
So the bug is NOT solved and o
Ok, here's a solution for you people. The bug vanished here after
removing ~/.config/Trolltech.conf . Hence this seems to be related to a
corrupted config file (mayber the file format has changed over time).
Re-creating the file with qtconfig-qt4 and setting everything exactly as
it used to be did

This is definitely a qt4 bug as at least one other qt4 application has
this bug.
Example: launch qtconfig-qt4. Go to Printers -> Browse...
then the application crashes.

More on this bug: the file chooser does not always crash -- it only does
so when trying to display ~/ (and other dirs, like ~/Desktop on my
machine).
Steps to reproduce this behavior:
1. mkdir ~/new
2. cd new
3. lyx foo.lyx
4. trigger the "open file" dialog. At this points, lyx should not crash si
I can confirm the bug, when opening a file or when saving a new file.
This seems related to the QT4 file chooser dialog.
My error is:
"ASSERT failure in QList::at: "index out of range", file

Abandon"
Here's how the bug came on my mac
I confirm the bug. Under gutsy, flash animations like youtube videos
used to cause epiphany-browser to crash from time to time while
unloading the animation. Now that I upgraded to hardy beta, this happens
way more often, like on 50% of the animations. This is not reproducible
for each animation.
I have the same issue with a Wacom Bamboo.
My tablet works fine if I launch programs in the underlying X server,
i.e. with "DISPLAY=:0 inkscape" for instance. So I temporarily use this
as a workaround. (see
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-201152.html for using a
window manager on :0).
