I tried compiling the smartctl from smartmontools 5.39... same effect.

I updated my system again, and received an /etc/init.d/ondemand that
looks like it tries to set the CPUs to ondemand mode. Unfortunately it
doesn't work.
It works if I run it manually: sudo /etc/init.d/ondemand start
But it doesn't work automatically. The reason seems to be the "sleep 60"...

The problem I has is what I described in the other bug: wireless no
longer works after upgrade to Gusty Beta.
Reading this ticket sounded like the same symptoms I saw. And reverting
to an earlier kernel (2.6.20) solved the problem. What can I do to

Yes, the final Live CD boot process behavior still happens. Fortunately,
once started, I used the final LiveCD (Desktop) for Dapper Ubuntu to
install Ubuntu to my existing XP laptop and now it dual boots just fine
with no unexpected behavior.
