Same for me: Upgraded from correct configured Gutsy to Hardy with Gnome-Desktop Uname -r: 2.6.24-15-generic, latest update from 08.04.08 Build Operating System: Linux Ubuntu (xorg-server 2:1.4.1~git20080131-1ubuntu6)
After reboot the keyboard -layout is always set to the US layout. Using System-Preferences-Keyboard I can see, the German keyboard is selected. I have to remove the Germany-Keyboard and add it again to change the setting. Other alternative is to access "Configure - KDE Controll Module". Changing keyboard to DE works as well (but again, after reboot this info is lost). As well I have the hue-color problem (ping/yellow) shadow arround my windows. Maybe this is related ?
