I just wanted to tell you that I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 and I'm still
having the same problem. I'm going to refile this bug with the new

Second, I'm not sure you read the bug correctly. I stated "This only occurs
when the panel is not expanded." Based on the tests I have performed, I
don't think this bug has anything to do with the auto-hide function. I

1. Open Firefox
2. Open the gnome calculator
You will see that after the calculator finishes loading, the button for

I have performed a lot of experiments with this bug and found out that
when a panel in Ubuntu or Mint is set to non-expanded mode, then at
various times (unpredictable), window buttons will fail to be visible.
