Sure it's a meta bug, but for me 12309 is still actual, and I don't use
any tuning for I/O subsystem at all.
Not as bad as years ago when it happens for the first time, but I still
have to throttle rtorrent to download at 2.5MB/sec maximum instead of
usual 10MB/s if I like to view films in mplayer

What exactly "newer Linux" is supposed to mean? I'm using yesterday's
updated Gentoo Linux with xorg-serve
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS is also affected. It uses old libssh-0.6.3. SHA-2
support was added in libssh-0.7.0.

Maybe it's possible to somehow extract flash plugin from chrome (AFAIK
it's compiled without SSE2)? Having to use 10.3 for 1.5 years and
without any signs adobe will fix this issue soon is a critical security

Is this mean your patch won't work when Alt (or Ctrl) is pressed before Shift?

perhaps something has gone wonky on my main machine. Glad something

Good job and quick work on fixing this one. I just upgraded to the
2.6.31-15-generic #50 kernel and this issue is now resolved. I guess it
only applied to the #49 kernel. The only issue now if I do a suspend
and resume rather quickly and then enter the password to unlock the

I also ran the script for kernel 2.6.31-15 which does not work for me.
It bombed almost immediately so I didn't feel like shredding my
filesystem to run all the other tests. I did notice some bits about
SELinux in there but I don't think this is the root cause. I am simply

I went ahead and ran the ubuntu suspend resume test script for tests 1

actually showed some fails and required me to press the power button to

Ok I found a solution after all for this problem that does not require
the backlight package update from the extra repo. The problem is
partially caused by the Samsung Update software in windows being so
crappy. It did not flag that there is a new bios update (11CA date
