Post #30 directions seems to be the common advice given to fix the issue and fixed it for me (thanks Dodge V83). Still I agree this a major problem and Notwork Manager is the biggest pile of crap software that comes with gnome and I have no idea why they don't toss the shiiteware out like they should. A much better alternative I hear is wicd. To install type
