I start banshee from a terminal or from the Unity dash. It starts, the
window stays open for a few seconds and then it closed unexpectedly.
Running banshee --debug generates the log attatched to this report.
I use Ubuntu 11.10 and Unity 2D.

I tried the whole process again and I found that, even if I choose not
to encrypt home, if I do advanced partitioning, the swap doesn't get
active. It's all about the /etc/fstab file, it contains incorrect info
because it has no UUID for swap partition. Also, it replicat
In my case, the swap partition appears as not active (in gparted). Yet
if it gets set to swapon, it never gets used during activity (even if
physical memory gets pretty used up).
The /etc/fstab file shows no UUID for this partition but
/dev/mapper/cryptswap1 none swap sw 0 0

Another replica of this issue over here.
One could agree with #Omer Akram about the nature of this bug. Most
likely to be a clash of unity stuff which actually runs (!!) with the
Gnome Classic stuff I'm currently using in my session.
I chose not to use Unity, I logged in with Gnome Classic. Then

exec compiz --replace ccp
in terminal and all effects started working and the window titles are
there yet. Rats!

Anyhow, compiz effects are not working on my laptop (but the settings
suggested by saaddick actually solve the issue with window titles). Will
try reinstalling compiz...

I've installed Kubuntu 11.04 beta updating from a previous kubuntu (which was
just installed from a 10.10 standard ubuntu, installing kubuntu-desktop and
uninstalling all the gnome stuff).
This computer is a HP dv6810 laptop, 3 yr old with an old battery that barely
charges
Tried on 10.10 (with gnome-shell) and the bug is there also. Te
attatched log (.xsession-errors) shows the moment when error happened
and then me trying to reboot.

Reporting this bug on 10.10 amd64. When authenticating (e. g. update-
manager), the password window stills and the process never starts. If I
close it with the X button on top, it allows the updating to start.

Thru the debug window, I got the attatched log for telepathy-butterfly.
Hope it rings a bell for someone (regexp all the way obfuscating
emails!! rats!).

Indeed, that approach to use valgrind on telepathy-butterfly didn't work
properly and the thing never got to show up on running processes.
Nevertheless, I submit the resulting log.
PS. I managed to force telepathy-butterfly to grow up consistently by
disconnecting/connecting my msn account. It gr

As long as the rebuilded pgAdmin makes its way to the updates, the
instructions given by meux does work considering that one must have the
devscripts package installed. Other than that, the sequence is pretty
straightforward. Thanks for the advice!

In my case, the bug shows up when clicking the button to disable the
touchpad. Once clicked, no gnome panel, no keyboard, just the USB mouse
moving (useless). The only thing that works (for a short period of time)
is ctrl-alt-del.

Didn't know how to replicate this. It just raised while using the
namaroka browser, google chrome and empathy. This error didn't stopped
me from doing anything at all... I submit this report because Ubuntu
says so (heh). Hope this helps!
