rather than ls) without realizing their behavior differs depending on
whether the file is a directory, zip file or duplicates present in the

I just got the same bug on a Desktop, intel based chipset. not a common
bug (Yesterday we had an install fest in my country, and we didnt see
this happening (More than 200 installs). I'm actually using Jaunty

As a note, this is happening to me even *during the same session*. I
mean, after setting up dns on network manager, without rebooting,

Well... i solved mine compiling a new kernell (from kernel.org and
solved my video issue with a patch from nvidia.com)
I was looking froward to publish this on my ppa... but really i have not
much time to do so... if anyone wants the kernells~ and the patched
nvidia driver setup msg me... ill uplo

generating the .deb) plus watching movies :p so... everything is

Well... i had to compile a 2.6.25.1 kernell... it has been up for some
time without crashing... tho i havent been able to build the nvidia
driver... anyone can halp? plus... i used the config file from feisty (i
still run feisty) and worked really fine...
im hopping this doesnt crashes again

Well... i just updated the kernel from a fresh install... installed all
i needed to work fine...
I've been working for some time no crashes yet... usb stuff working
fine... heavy network work and heavy disk usage (copying movies from a
machine to other using NFS) even compiz enabled... now gonna

irqpoll options but didnt work at all... machine locked up after...
hmm... 45 mins... has anyone tried a .26 kernel??

being using the nvidia graphics is not the problem... _having_ them
is as far as i can see... i think we all have linux-restricted-
drivers or so instlled... most of us have nvidia stuff... (even on
desktop pcs).. and some have ati... :/ ima try with the nmi_watchdog=3

Well i think just abandon it like that wont solve anything... tho... i
dont belive its a disk I/O... since i think there's a common
denominator: Nvidia cards, Wireless Stuff (which has to be loaded with
magic)

Same problem here... but with hardy's default kernell (2.6.25 i guess) i
am still on feisty, lappy is a compaq v3417la with everything working,
and the wireless is using the b43 firmware...
Mostly i get the lockups with compiz and video playing...

Just for the record, if I boot up the Mac partition and connect the same
iPod to the same USB connector, it works as expected. Is Apple cheating
somehow? Are they "forcing" the connection?

I agree.
It just happened to me when i was connecting my iPod to the USB port on
the keyboard. I'm running Edgy on an iMac and i was just not getting any
error whatsoever leaving me clueless about the problem.
